OFFSHORE Project Partners Engage in Insightful Event and METCentre Visit in Norway
On 4th and 5th April 2024, the OFFSHORE Project consortium partners had an opportunity to participate in an insightful event dedicated to offshore wind industry, organized in Norway by Norwegian Offshore Wind.
The one-day workshop, titled “Boostcamp Norway: The Seaway7 Way”, offered us an opportunity for reviewing the current situation, as well as the perspectives on fixed and floating offshore wind and market success, and challenges for the offshore wind industry in the coming years. The workshop created an excellent scene for discussions and B2B meetings.
The following day brought an exceptional opportunity to visit the Marine Energy Test Centre with its floating wind platforms. METCentre is the world leading test centre for floating offshore renewable energy production, providing the opportunity to test and validate floater technologies in full scale.
Established in 2009, METCentre has earned global acclaim as a world-leading test center in the North Sea for floating offshore renewable energy and emerging technologies. The center provides essential infrastructure and services for testing technologies in shallow and deep waters (exceeding 200 meters), encompassing diverse testing conditions.
